In the recent state budget, even the Goa government had proposed to increase the prices on Liquor with the effect of 1st April, and Now Karnataka Government has proposed to increase the prices on Indian Made Liquor (IML) or Country Liquor.

In the state budget, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has proposed to increase the Additional Excise Duty (AED) by 6% on every bulk liters or 9 liters of various brands.

The 6% increase in the AED will cost the cheapest liquor brand by Rs 9 more per carton box of 12 bottles and the costliest brands by Rs 202 per carton box.
