• Maharastra excise department allowed the opening liquor shops on May 4th, and on May 22nd BMC issued a circulation, allowing online liquor sales to avoid overcrowding at liquor shops during this pandemic.
  • This week excise department has issued a circular stating that online liquor sale was temporary,which was allowed during the lockdown, and advertising or offering any discount is prohibited and anyone indulging in such activity will be penalized for up to 6-month imprisonment or a ₹5,000 fine.
  • Similarly, Odisha and Kolkata government had also allowed the online sales on temporary agreement only, so soon we can expect the same thing in other states as well..
